	Our First Steps (1965) In Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the heart of the world’s Mohair industry, a textile trading company from Bradford, UK, established a subsidiary called International Mohair Topmakers (PTY) Ltd. This marked the beginning of SAMIL.
	Our Own Mill (1987) Over the years, we transitioned from purchasing greasy Mohair to commission combing both internationally and in South Africa. In 1987, we took a significant step forward by opening our own combing mill, Border Combing Company, which is now known as SAMIL Combing.
	SA Mohair Industries (1992) 1992 was the year that South African Mohair Industries Limited (SAMIL) was officially formed. Primarily a Mohair trader and processor, SAMIL’s ambitions have reached far beyond this activity, and we now see ourselves as the link between Mohair producers, processors and consumers, and as pioneers of the future of South African Mohair.
	A Spinning Operation (1994) In 1994, we launched Cape Mohair Spinners (CMS) and our dyeing plant to produce and create our own yarns using mohair sourced from South Africa.
	Farming (2011) Samil Farming was established in 2011 to further strengthen our partnerships with the Angora farming community and to assist in the growth of the industry.
	Samil Natural Fibres (2013) Samil Natural Fibres (Pty) Ltd was officially established in 2013 by amalgamating Cape Mohair Spinners (CMS), with a vision to provide high-quality natural fibre solutions. Over the years, we’ve grown and expanded, bringing together various entities that enable us to offer a comprehensive, all-encompassing service to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Our commitment to excellence and sustainable practices ensures that we deliver the best in natural fibre products and services.
